I signed up to a free cycling program from Sports Ireland in conjunction with Cycling Ireland. Up to now I have just hopped on the bike and cycled according to how I felt and for as long as I felt I could do.
I decided I needed a bit of structure and to build my stamina and speed. The course is on the TrainingPeaks platform and is normally €49. It starts with short trips at various effort level. On my first one I was instructed to take it easy and not my normal he’ll for leather approach.
Of course it was wet and cold evening when I set out. I found it difficult to take it easy . However when I finished I was not wrecked as I usually am and was able to go for a walk with the dog.
I think also as it is structured schedule there is an additional challenge to keep to the schedule especially in November. So I will see how it goes
